Wheatsheaf Golf Society
The Wheatsheaf Golf Society had another very successful season in 2009, culminating in a meeting at Nizels Golf Club near Hildenborough, where our Golfer Of The Year competition was decided. Jim White, the deserving winner following a really consistently good season, went into the final match with a commanding lead of 6 shots over Ted Hirst, who was able to reduce the margin to 2 shots whilst securing runner up spot. Terry Moore came from nowhere with an excellent final round to take third place, with Willy Brunsdon a shot further back in fourth. Many congratulations to them, and a big thank you too to the other 38 golfers who played in the society during the course of the season helping to make it such a popular success

Pub League Champions 2009
| Well done to our all-conquering golfers who, led by Captain Alan Berwick, won the Dewlands Pub League Championship at their first attempt. They comfortably defeated a team from The George (Frant) in the final in October, having already won their own round robin ‘mini league’ earlier in June |  |
